Furniture designed by women<\/h2><\/div>

The pieces I have selected for this post, were created by women, but for the most part, both they and their designs, were silenced by the prominence of their colleagues.<\/p>\n

Many people still today do not know who the real creators were, so let’s discover some of these pieces.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>

The first of these is the Bibendum Armchair<\/a>, by Irish designer Eileen Grey.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Architect, designer and fundamental figure of the International Style and Art Deco, she was a visionary in many aspects and created a multitude of pieces of furniture that still today, coexist in our interiors. This cushioned armchair was designed in 1926! for the Monegasque villa called E 1027, whose architecture was also his responsibility. But doesn’t it still look very current?<\/p>\n

In it we observe the influence of Marcel Breuer in the use of steel tubing as the material of the structure, although what is most striking is the float-shaped padding that makes the chair envelop us when we sit in it. In fact, the armchair receives this unique name because its shape reminded the designer of the Michelin doll.<\/p>\n<\/div>

It is currently reedited by the German brand Classicon<\/a> in various finishes.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Another piece I would like to talk about is the Bardi’s bowl chair<\/a> by Lina Bo Bardi<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>

It was created in 1951 by this Italian-Brazilian architect and designer, collaborator of Domus magazine and restless woman, seeking the interaction of the piece with people since, depending on the combinations of the seat and cushions, it can be used as an armchair, cradle, etc.<\/p>\n

It was originally an affordable and functional armchair of which only two copies were preserved at the time of Lina’s death: one made of black leather and the other with red cushions.<\/p>\n

The Arper<\/a> brand initiated a collaboration with the Lina Bo Bardi Institute to reissue it in a limited edition of only 500 units, respecting at all times the creative spirit and values of the designer. It is available in black leather and seven fabric colors.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Y<\/span>a last but not least<\/span> today,<\/span> another of my favorites<\/span>, <\/span>designer Charlotte Perriand, <\/span>standard bearer<\/span> at <\/span>creating multifunctional interiors and furniture <\/span>without neglecting comfort and <\/span>comfort and well-being<\/span>. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

He lived most of his life in the shadow of Le Corbusier, for whom he designed the furniture for the spaces he created. <\/span>spaces that he created and it was not until 1999 when an exhibition <\/span>an exhibition<\/span> at the Pompidou in Paris<\/span>gave him back the prominence he deserved. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
